Baby Shower Planning

If you or the mother-to-be is superstitious and believes that no gifts should be bought until the baby is born (some religions believe this as well), you may want to have the baby shower about a month after the baby is born. This will give the mother time to heal and get settled into her new role. By this time she will want to show the baby off, and may have a better idea what she needs.

Baby Naming

While it may be exciting to present some of your favorite names to friends and family, they can be very opinionated! If they "hate" a name you have chosen as one of your favorites, it may cause resentment. You may end up choosing a different name instead based on their feelings, and then end up regretting it later in life.

Pregnancy Exercise

Staying hydrated is also very important whether you are exercising while pregnant or not. Blurred vision is a common sign of dehydration. It means that your blood pressure is dropping rapidly which is sending your heart into overdrive. Make sure to keep drinking water to avoid this potentially dangerous situation.

If your morning sickness is severe and you cannot keep any food down, you may need to be given I.V. fluids which contain much needed vitamins and nutrients for you and the baby.
