Baby Names Plus Quick Tips
Baby Shower PlanningIf you or the mother-to-be is superstitious and believes that no gifts should be bought until the baby is born (some religions believe this as well), you may want to have the baby shower about a month after the baby is born. This will give the mother time to heal and get settled into her new role. By this time she will want to show the baby off, and may have a better idea what she needs.
Baby NamingTry to avoid names that could be mispronounced or misspelled easily. There is nothing more frustrating to a kid than having to correct people, like his or her teacher, every time they say the name for the first time. Or having to say "no, that's spelled with an 'I' not a 'Y'" a thousand times! Plus, if you like to buy things with your child's name on them, you'll never be able to find anything with the correct spelling unless it's specially made for you.
Pregnancy ExerciseOverheating your body for an extended period of time may be harmful to the fetus. Remember that your internal thermometer will let you know when you've had enough. Cold flashes or clammy hands means you body is having a hard time regulating its temperature, and you should stop and cool down.
Morning SicknessIf your morning sickness is unbearable, see your doctor. He may put you on vitamin B, which has been shown to help some women. If your morning sickness is severe and you cannot keep any food down, you may need to be given I.V. fluids which contain much needed vitamins and nutrients for you and the baby.
