Baby Shower Planning

If you or the mother-to-be is superstitious and believes that no gifts should be bought until the baby is born (some religions believe this as well), you may want to have the baby shower about a month after the baby is born. This will give the mother time to heal and get settled into her new role. By this time she will want to show the baby off, and may have a better idea what she needs.

Baby Naming

Try to avoid names that could be mispronounced or misspelled easily. There is nothing more frustrating to a kid than having to correct people, like his or her teacher, every time they say the name for the first time. Or having to say "no, that's spelled with an 'I' not a 'Y'" a thousand times! Plus, if you like to buy things with your child's name on them, you'll never be able to find anything with the correct spelling unless it's specially made for you.

Pregnancy Exercise

The best pregnancy exercises are low-impact aerobics such as brisk walking, dancing, swimming and yoga to name a few. Try to avoid potentially dangerous sports, such as outdoor biking, skiing, horseback riding, etc. Never go scuba diving as it can cause dangerous gas bubbles in the baby's blood.

Morning Sickness

There are many remedies that have been suggested for morning sickness, such as: drinking ginger ale; having a snack next to the bed to eat before you get up; morning sickness wrist bands; and eating many small meals instead of 3 large meals.
