If you or the mother-to-be is superstitious and believes that no gifts should be bought until the baby is born (some religions believe this as well), you may want to have the baby shower about a month after the baby is born. This will give the mother time to heal and get settled into her new role. By this time she will want to show the baby off, and may have a better idea what she needs.

Many parents choose to narrow their list down to two or three of their favorite names and then wait until they see the baby for the first time to actually choose the name. This may give you and your child a special sense of pride. "He just looked like a Jeremy!"

Dizziness during or after your pregnancy workout that is persistant or accompanied by blurred vision and/or headaches may be a sign of anemia or other serious illness. Cool down and advise your doctor or midwife.

Prenatal vitamins have been blamed for causing morning sickness because of the very high content of suppliments to which your body is unaccustomed. Don't stop taking them, but do take them later in the day or with food.
